IMS Welcomes Pascal Tyrrell as Director of EDIIA
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Pascal Tyrrell has joined IMS as our new Director of Equity, Diversity, Indigeneity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIIA). He is leading efforts to improve EDIIA for underrepresented and historically marginalized groups at IMS, and to ensure that IMS creates an environment that welcomes and promotes EDIIA widely across our community. He will also serve as a key member of the IMS Leadership Group and Executive Committee. Dr. Tyrrell has been a member of IMS’ Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee since its inception and has acted as the Faculty Lead for its Highschool Outreach Subcommittee.
Dr. Tyrrell is an accomplished data scientist and academic leader, recognized for his transformative contributions to medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and global health. He has championed systemic change, creating inclusive educational environments that integrate Indigenous and diverse global perspectives. His initiatives, such as the CAN-Tico Global Health Research partnership, have enhanced healthcare access in low- and middle-income countries, demonstrating his commitment to global equity.
