Can IMS modular courses that are letter graded count towards the IMS elective requirement?
IMS modular courses that are letter graded can count towards either the IMS modular course requirement or the IMS elective requirement, but the same course CAN NOT count towards both requirements.
If a course is listed as TBD on the IMS website, will the course be offered this academic year?
Courses listed as TBD will not be offered in the Fall 2024 or Winter 2025 semesters. If there are any changes, our website will be updated.
What is the maximum number of courses I can enroll in one semester?
IMS students can only enroll in a maximum of 2.0 FCE courses per semester, including MSC1010H/1011H.
What is the minimum number of courses that I have to be enrolled in each semester?
There is no minimum number of courses that IMS students need to be enrolled in each semester. All students will be enrolled in MSC1010H or MSC1011H until they complete the course. All students will also be enrolled in RST9999Y until they defend their thesis.
Can I be added to IMS courses that are full?
No, students can not be added to courses that are full. IMS courses do not have waitlists. Please check ACORN regularly to see if any spots open in the course.
Do I need to fill out an add/drop form to enroll in every course?
Add/drop forms are not required for any IMS courses. An add/drop form will not be required to enroll in IMM, JCV, CSC, PSY, BME, and TRP courses.
How many IMS modular courses can I take throughout my degree?
We usually limit students to two IMS modular courses in order to allow all students the opportunity to complete their degree requirements. If there is extra space in the modular courses during the first week of classes, students can enroll in additional modular courses.
