Peter Laussen

Research Synopsis

Peter Laussen joined the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children as Chief of the Department in 2012. He holds the David and Stacey Cynamon Chair in Critical Care Medicine and is a Senior Associate Scientist in the Research Institute at SickKids and Professor in Anaesthesia at the University of Toronto. Research in data science includes the design of a web-based platform for enhanced visualization of continuous physiologic signals and developing an architecture to ensure the reliable streaming of physiologic data with optimized compression and indexing for modeling and predictive analysis. Dr. Laussen is also a co-founder of the internationally renowned risk management symposiums Risky Business (risky-business.com).
