Research Synopsis

Dr. Mamdani is Director of the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine Centre for Artificial Intelligence Education and Research in Medicine (T-CAIREM) and the Clinical Lead for AI at Ontario Health, where he develops and implements approaches to promote widespread AI adoption across Ontario to enhance healthcare system efficiency, patient outcomes, and healthcare providers' experience.

In his previous role, he was the VP of Data Science and Advanced Analytics at Unity Health Toronto. Dr. Mamdani founded the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (ODPRN), the Li Ka Shing Centre for Healthcare Analytics Research and Training (LKS-CHART), and the Applied Health Research Centre (AHRC) at St. Michael’s Hospital.

He was previously named among Canada’s Top 40 under 40 and has published approximately 600 research studies in peer-reviewed medical journals, which have been cited over 50,000 times.
