Research Synopsis
We are a multi-investigator group with a focus on the role of liver progenitor cells in the repair and pathologic fibrosis in Biliary Atresia, the most common cause of end-stage liver failure in infants and children. Our data is consistent with others that ciliopathy may play a role in the pathogenesis of biliary atresia. We are members of the NIH-funded Childhood Liver Disease Research Network and have access to human biospecimen, genomics, proteomics, transcriptomic data to correlate with animal models and organoid data.
