Research Synopsis

I am an Associate Professor in Radiation Oncology, and my research focuses on sarcoma and metastasis. My clinical areas of expertise include sarcoma, primary brain cancers, and metastatic tumors in the brain and spine. My PhD thesis centered on interferon and NF-kappa B signaling pathways and my post-doctoral research identified circulating protein biomarkers in pancreatic cancer. In my current position as a clinician scientist, I conduct translational research and lead prospective clinical trials investigating the molecular features of, and novel imaging procedures for, sarcoma, glioblastoma and brain metastases. Currently, I supervise a graduate student and a research associate in collaborators’ laboratories. However, within the next 2 years I aim to establish my own laboratory and obtain major grant funding so that I can hire and lead a team of talented trainees to publish multiple high-impact papers in the highest-tier journals.
