Type
Lecture

Please join us for breakfast as we hear from our fellow IMS researchers from the Hospital for Sick Children.

Where: C. David Naylor Building – Room NL 203

Presenters:

Fiorelle (Fio) Aguilar Fiorelle is a second-year MSc student at the IMS, working with Drs. Blayne A. Sayed and Sergio Grinstein. With his research, Fio aims to elucidate the signalling cascade that ensues after phagocytic complement receptor activation, specifically, that of CRIg.

Shreya Kanade Shreya is a second-year MSc student working under the supervision of Dr. Yigal Dror. She is investigating how mutations in the DNAJC21 gene contribute to aberrant ribosome biogenesis and to the development of Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (inherited bone marrow failure syndrome).

Selina Tang – Selina is a first-year master’s student at IMS, working under supervision of Dr. Osami Honjo. Her project focuses on a rare congenital heart defect called Ebstein’s anomaly. Treating this disorder is particularly challenging due to the wide spectrum of symptoms and the diverse age range of patients. By analyzing data from multiple sites across Ontario, she aims to identify patterns and optimize management strategies.

Please register here by January 28.
