Michener Institute of Education launches Digital Health and Data Analytics Program

Faculty
Data Analysis

Given the rapid emergence of data-driven science - AI, Machine Learning, "-omics" of many kinds - IMS knows that many Faculty Members sit on piles of data, or information coming out of their data, that they may struggle to push along the trajectory from concept to clinical innovation, practice or policy change, among other impacts on health care.

The Michener Institute of Education at UHN has developed a new program to help fill this gap - the Digital Health and Data Analytics Program. This program is geared to graduating "Digital Health Specialists" who are specially trained to build bridges between the technical and clinical domains that must partner to effectively translate ideas into products and solutions.

As part of this program, students complete two practicum placements (January - April and May - August 2023) where they are immersed in a team project focused on digital health and/or data analytics in medicine and health. The Michener Institute of Education is seeking partners for these placements in a variety of sectors, including academic and clinical environments. These placements are similar to other student placements, and funding is optional (although recommended).
