Research Synopsis

Dr. Ameis' research program focuses on biomarker discovery and treatment innovation in children and youth with different neurodevelopmental disorders. As co-investigator of the Province of Ontario Neurodevelopmental Disorders (POND) Network, her research at Sick Kids is focused on applying a dimensional approach to brain imaging research to examine neural correlates of clinical symptoms and behaviour present across children with autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and obsessive compulsive disorders. Dr. Ameis is jointly appointed at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health where she leads research focused on treatment innovation and clinical translation. Her research is funded by the Ontario Mental Health Foundation, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
