Research Synopsis

My research focuses on behavioural counseling that is delivered through internet and mobile technologies, and which is aimed at improving health status and quality of life among patients which chronic conditions that affect their heart and kidney health. I have led a collaborative effort to establish a pan-Canadian digital counseling platform for cardiovascular self-care among patients with hypertension and with chronic heart failure, and this work is currently being applied to help patients with chronic kidney disease. This digital counseling program, and the clinical protocol that guides its application, has been used by co-investigators within Canada, and in a research collaboration with the National University Health System of Singapore.
