Research Synopsis
My main focus areas of research are:
- Advancing the understanding of complex pediatric neurovascular diseases.
- Improving outcomes from neurointerventional therapies in children.
I strongly believe in the role of translational research, and my work is intricately tied to improving diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. This ensures both that my research remains clinically relevant, as well as ensures that I offer cutting edge clinical solutions to patients. For example, my research on quantitative imaging and 3D-printing of pediatric neurovascular diseases have direct translational impact in my daily clinical practice. My motivation for research is rooted in questions that I am enthusiastic about, as well as in a humble awareness that several important and practice-relevant questions are yet to be fully addressed in the field of pediatric neurovascular diseases. Therefore, I aim for my research to have both theoretical and practical applications. I have published over 60 papers in the last 5 years, and been invited to several local, national and international symposia and large groups to discuss my work, thereby disseminating clinical skills and research advancements in the pediatric neurovascular-neurointerventional realm.
