Nathan Kolla
Research Synopsis
Dr. Kolla uses multimodal brain imaging techniques to investigate the neurobiology of aggression and impulsivity in forensic psychiatric populations. He has specifically developed expertise in positron emission tomography brain imaging. Dr. Kolla studies the brain chemistry and brain features of borderline personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, major depressive disorder, conduct disorder, first episode psychosis, schizophrenia, and psychopathy among others. His research is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law Institute for Education and Research.
