Research Synopsis:
Dr. Wine's research has a particular focus on dietary therapies such as the Crohn’s Disease Exclusion Diet (CDED). His research, conducted through the Wine Lab at the SickKids Research Institute and the University of Alberta, explores the roles of intestinal bacteria, nutrition, epithelial barrier function, and inflammation in the pathogenesis of IBD. His work bridges basic science and clinical application, enabling impactful translational research.
In addition to his research and clinical work, Dr. Wine is dedicated to education and mentorship, supervising postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and clinical trainees.
