TEACHING ASSISTANT POSITIONS IN THE INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCE
Teaching Assistant (TA) positions at the Institute of Medical Science (IMS) are posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Collective agreement. CUPE3902 is the Teaching Assistants union at University of Toronto; their website provides additional information on terms and conditions of employment, benefits, pay rates, etc.
TA positions at IMS are listed on this page when a teaching position becomes available. Additionally, the undergraduate Human Biology Program regularly offers a number of TA positions for graduate students interested in including teaching as a part of their academic education.
The estimated number of positions, approximate hours of work, and dates of employment, required qualifications, and brief description of the duties will be listed once a teaching position is available. Actual number of positions will depend on student enrolment. Second, and where applicable, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth appointments will be offered to eligible graduate students who held previous appointments. The current rate of pay for the 2016-17 academic year for a SGS1/SGS11 is $42.90 respectively, per hour, in accordance with the CUPE collective agreement. TA applications must be accompanied by a cover letter, short-version CV (maximum 2 pages) including previous teaching evaluations (if applicable) and two letters of reference.
